Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on the 9th of August, 1963 in Newark New Jersey. She is the mother of gospel singer Cissy Houston(nee Emily Lee Drinkard), and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney Houston's cousin Dionne Warswick is also a singer. When she was a kid, she sang in her New Hope Baptist Church Choir in Newark.
