Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. Buss is a California native, Buss was raised in an affluent family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who later owned the Lakers and other sports companies. Her parents divorced in 1972. separated together and she felt left out. When she was 19 years old she joined the family's business as director of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. Later, she established her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice President of the Lakers. Buss, her five sisters and brothers, as well as their father who was the owner of the Lakers and ruled them until the time of his passing away in 2013, received this ownership through the trust. They each enjoyed equally vote rights. Buss assumed the role of the president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered at Los Angeles.
